Peter Marcus was raised in Great Neck, New York. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Poetry, North American Review, Poetry East, AGNI, Yankee, Yellow Silk, and elsewhere. He considers Sharon Olds, Galway Kinnell, Robert Hass, and Brenda Hillman his main influences, though he only sees them one week a year at the Squaw Valley Community of Writers. He is completing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, specializing in counseling Native Americans and individuals with eating disorders. He lives in Arizona. (updated 1993)
