Billy O’Callaghan, born in Cork, Ireland, is the author of three story collections and two novels, most recently My Coney Island Baby (Harper, 2019), which has been translated into eight languages. His work has won, among numerous honors, the Irish Book Award for Short Story of the Year and two Arts Council of Ireland Bursary Awards for Literature. His stories have appeared widely, in Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, Salamander, AGNI, The Saturday Evening Post, and elsewhere. A new collection, The Boatman and Other Stories, will be published by Harper in 2020. (updated 9/2019)
