Remembering the Future

Matt Hope was born in London in 1976. After training at The Welding Institute, he worked as a structural welder in the U.K., becoming experienced in fabrication techniques that he then applied to electronic mechanical sculpture. In 2001, he went on to study fine art, obtaining an MFA from the University of California San Diego. Since 2007 he has lived and worked in China. (updated 2013)
