Hayden Carruth is an acclaimed American poet. His latest collection of poetry, Scrambled Eggs and Whiskey, was published this year by Copper Canyon Press. His recent honors include the National Book Critics’ Circle Award for his selected essays and the 1995 Lannan Literary Award. (updated 1996)
