Shara McCallum is the author of six books, including the forthcoming verse sequence No Ruined Stone (Alice James, forthcoming 2021), a speculative account of Scottish poet Robert Burns’s migration to Jamaica to work on a slave plantation. Her recent poetry collection Madwoman (Alice James, 2017) received the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature and the Motton Book Prize from the New England Poetry Club. McCallum is a professor of English at Penn State University and teaches in the Pacific University Low-Residency MFA Program. (updated 9/2020)
