Hebe Uhart was born in a small town in the province of Buenos Aires in 1936 and died in the city of Buenos Aires in 2018. She worked as a teacher and writer and received the Manuel Rojas Ibero-American Award for Literature in 2017. Uhart is renowned as one of the most original voices in the Spanish language.
