Shoshana Akabas’s writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Elle, Kenyon Review, AGNI, Electric Literature, and American Short Fiction, and has received honors from the National Geographic Foundation and the American Literary Translator’s Association. She lives in New York City, where she teaches at Barnard College and is executive director of New Neighbors Partnership, a nonprofit organization that connects refugee families to their new communities and essential local resources.
