Rose Moss was born in South Africa and has lived in the United States since 1964. She has published two novels, The Family Reunion (short-listed for a National Book Award) and The Terrorist (republished as The Schoolmaster); a nonfiction account of a treason trial in apartheid South Africa, Shouting at the Crocodile; nonfiction articles; and prize-winning short stories.
