Philip Holmes is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton. A fellow of the American Physical Society and member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he is also the author of four collections of poetry, most recently Lighting the Steps (Anvil, 2002).
