Mai Der Vang is the author of the poetry collections Yellow Rain (Graywolf Press, 2021)—finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and winner of an American Book Award and The Academy of American Poets’ Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize—and Afterland (Graywolf Press, 2017), winner of The Academy of American Poets’ First Book Award. Her third collection, Primordial, is forthcoming from Graywolf in 2025. The recipient of Guggenheim and Lannan fellowships, she teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Fresno State.
