Tory Dent, 35, grew up in Connecticut and now lives in New York City, where she is pursuing a PhD in English at NYU. Her poems have appeared in The Antioch Review, The Partisan Review, The Paris Review, and elsewhere, and her art criticism in Arts Magazine and Flash Art. Among her honors are fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Yaddo, and MacDowell. Her book manuscript has been a finalist for numerous awards, including the Whitman, Bobst, National Poetry Series, and Barnard Women Poets Prize. (updated 1993)
