Jill Gonet grew up near New Bedford, Massachusetts. Of her poem in issue 37 she writes, “Periodically we reinvent ourselves or perhaps only our mythologies about ourselves. This poem is a record of a life breaking open in order to reinvent itself.” Despite upheavals, she has made Seattle her home for the past eight years. Her poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry 1992, Ploughshares, The Antioch Review, Black Warrior Review, ZYZZYVA, and elsewhere. (updated 1993)
