Carolyn Cooke’s story collection, The Bostons (Houghton Mifflin), won the 2002–2004 PEN/ Bingham Award for a first book and was a runner-up for the PEN/Hemingway Award. Her novel Amor & Psycho, from which “The Boundary” is taken, will be published by Alfred A. Knopf in 2012. She teaches in the MFA writing program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. (updated 4/2010)

Her AGNI story “The Sugar-Tit” was chosen for The Best American Short Stories 2002.
