The Break-In

Angela Pelster is the author of two essay collections: The Evolution of Fire: Meditations on Crises (Milkweed Editions, forthcoming 2026) and Limber (Sarabande Books, 2014), which won the Great Lakes Colleges Association Award for best new book in nonfiction and was a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. Her work has appeared in Orion, Ploughshares, Tin House, Granta, and elsewhere. She was a 2021 McKnight Artist Fellow, chosen by Hanif Abdurraqib.
