Jesse Lee Kercheval

Jesse Lee Kercheval is the author of twelve works of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, including the novel My Life as a Silent Movie and The Alice Stories, which won the Prairie Schooner Fiction Book Prize. She received the Crab Orchard Open Selection Award for her poetry collection Cinema Muto in 2009, and The Dogeater, her first collection of short stories, won the Associated Writing Programs Award in Short Fiction in 1987. She is the editor of América invertida: an Anthology of Younger Uruguayan Poets, forthcoming from the University of New Mexico Press. (updated 10/2013)
