What We Hoped For

Georgia Heard has published numerous books on the art of teaching writing—most recently, A Place for Wonder: Reading and Writing Nonfiction in the Primary Grades (Stenhouse Publishers, 2009)—as well as four books for children. One of the founders of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project in New York City, she spends her time traveling the nation, teaching writing to children and young adults. (updated 7/2010)
