Sharron Singleton began writing poetry in her mid-fifties after years as a social worker for the mentally ill and a community organizer focused on peace and civil rights. Her poems have appeared in The Spoon River Poetry Review, The Midwest Quarterly, The Sow’s Ear Poetry Review, AGNI, Atlanta Review, and elsewhere. She lives in a rural Virginia town. (updated 8/2009)
