Balázs Mezei

Balázs Mezei is a leading young voice in the Hungarian poetic movement known as Uj Hold (New Moon). He has published two books of poems as well as numerous translations from Latin and English. In November, 1990, “Stuttering to Rainer, In Darkness” was read before the European Parliament in Brussels in official celebration of Hungary’s new membership. (updated 1992)

Gregory S. d’Elia

Gregory S. d’Elia is a philosophy student whose studies have taken him to Liechtenstein and, currently, Oxford. His translations have taken him to Brussels, where he and Balazs Mezei read the Hungarian and English versions of the poem in this issue before the European parliament. (updated 1992)
