Imagining Heaven

Alison Powell is the author of On the Desire to Levitate (Ohio University Press, forthcoming in March 2014), winner of the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize. Her poetry has appeared in Crazyhorse, Black Warrior Review, AGNI, The Antioch Review, Quarterly West, Guernica, The Best New Poets, and elsewhere. She is working toward a PhD in English literature at the CUNY Graduate Center and teaches Romantic poetry and children’s literature at Hunter College. She lives in Brooklyn. (updated 11/2013)
