Rikki Ducornet

Rikki Ducornet is the author of nine novels, three collections of short fiction, two books of essay, and five books of poetry. Her novels include The Jade Cabinet, a finalist for The National Book Critics’ Circle Award, and The Fan Maker’s Inquisition, a Los Angeles Times Book of the Year. Her most recent work, the essay collection The Deep Zoo, was released in January by Coffee House. Ducornet has received both a Lannan Literary Fellowship and the Lannan Literary Award For Fiction. She has received the Bard College Arts and Letters award and, in 2008, an Academy Award in Literature. Her work is widely published abroad. Recent exhibitions of her paintings include the solo show Desirous in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and group shows in Coimbra, Portugal, and at the Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende in Santiago, Chile. She has illustrated books by Jorge Luis Borges and Robert Coover, among others. (updated 5/2015)
