Peter Rühmkorf (1929–2008) was an influential and prolific German post-war writer. His publications include poems, essays, stage plays, biographies, and fairy tales. He was a winner of the Georg Büchner Prize, the Heinrich Heine Prize, and the Arno Schmidt Prize, among others.
