Nick Flynn

Nick Flynn, in previous incarnations, has worked as a ship’s captain, an electrician, and a caseworker with homeless adults. Currently he is a professor of creative writing at the University of Houston, where he is in residence each spring. His recent books include This Is the Night Our House Will Catch Fire (W.W. Norton, 2020) and Stay: threads, collaborations, and conversations (Ze Books, 2020). He is the author of five collections of poetry, including I Will Destroy You (Graywolf Press, 2019). His bestselling memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City (Norton, 2004) was made into a film starring Robert DeNiro and has been translated into fifteen languages.
