Kat Meads is the author of an essay collection, 2:12 a.m. (Stephen F. Austin State University Press, 2013), the novel For You, Madam Lenin (Livingston Press/University of West Alabama, 2012), an “unconventional mystery,” Senestre on Vacation (a _ForeWord _Book of the Year mystery finalist in 2011, written under the name Z. K. Burrus), and the novel The Invented Life of Kitty Duncan (Chiasmus Press, 2006). Her essays have appeared in The Southern Review, Drunken Boat, Fugue, and elsewhere. She lives in California.
