Karl Harshbarger lives with his wife in Germany, where he writes, teaches English as a foreign language, and plays squash. His stories have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Iowa Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. He has just completed his third novel. (updated 5/2009)
