
Guy de Maupassant
Guy de Maupassant (1850–1893) wrote over three hundred short stories over the course of his career and is considered one of the masters of the form. He is also the author of five novels, including Bel-ami, Pierre and Jean, and Strong as Death (Fort Comme la mort). (updated 2002)
