“There are people who upon dying”

A. E. Quintero is the author of fifteen titles in poetry and the recipient of such awards as the Premio Nacional de Poesía Enriqueta Ochoa (1996) and the Premio Bellas Artes de Poesía Aguascalientes (2011), Mexico’s most prestigious prize in poetry. “There are people who upon dying” is drawn from El pequeño libro de la lluvia [The Little Book of the Rain] (2017), a finalist for the Loewe Foundation International Poetry Prize.
