The Swim

Michael Longley (1939-2025) was a widely acclaimed Northern Irish poet whose career spanned more than five decades. He published numerous collections of poetry, including The Weather in Japan, The Ghost Orchid, The Stairwell, and Angel Hill, and received many honors, including the T. S. Eliot Prize, the Griffin Poetry Prize, and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
