Teju Cole is a novelist, photographer, and critic, and author of eight books, among them Open City (Random House, 2012), Golden Apple of the Sun (Mack Books, 2021), and Black Paper: Writing in a Dark Time (University of Chicago Press, 2021). He was the photography critic of The New York Times Magazine from 2015 to 2019, and is Gore Vidal Professor of the Practice of Creative Writing at Harvard University. (updated 10/2022)
