The poet, prose writer, and radio journalist Rolf Haufs (1935–2013) was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and died at the age of 77 in Berlin. Many of his later poems concern the war-time and its aftermath. The poems in AGNI 76 belong to the third and last part of Haufs’s collection Tanzstunde auf See (Hanser Verlag).
