Imraan Coovadia is a South African writer. His third novel, High Low In-between (2009), won both of his country’s major literary awards: the Sunday Times Fiction Prize and the University of Johannesburg Prize. His earlier novels are The Wedding (2001) and Green-Eyed Thieves (2006). He was born in Durban and now lives in Cape Town, where he teaches at the University of Cape Town. (updated 10/2010)
