Cynthia Zarin’s books of poetry include The Swordfish Tooth (1989); Fire Lyric (1993); The Watercourse (2002), winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; and The Ada Poems (2010), a series of poems based on Vladimir Nabokov’s classic novel Ada, or Ardor: A Family Chronicle. Her prose work An Enlarged Heart: A Personal History was published in 2013. A past Guggenheim Fellow, she is a staff writer for The New Yorker and teaches at Yale University. (updated 10/2016)
