First, I made sure any new fields or existing fields with a different behaviour stands out in the CMS as follow:

Now, in the CMS context, V2 only changes some aspects of three document types listed below.

Homepage#homepage

Two new fields are added to the homepage. Featured Entries and Page Sections.

Homepage Featured Entries#homepage-featured-entries

Even though this field existed prior, it is now used to populate the right part of the top section of the Homepage and is limited to 4.

Homepage Sections#homepage-sections

From now on each sections of the homepage — save for the first one mentioned above will be handled with the new Page Sections field. Each section sports its own « module » with its dedicated fields. Again, the very first section sporting the current issue and the Featured Entries is not part of this system and eventually the sections could be reordered, nonetheless I’ll iterate the editable sections and their module for clarity.

Section 1: This is populated with the Push module. Every text here is custom and not necessarily linked to a portoflio. This can therefore let one promote anything.

Section 2: This is populated with the Hightlight module. This module presents two sides. On the left, a list of entries you can select, and on the right a quote and the entry related to said quote.

Section 3: This is populated by the Buy module. This one promotes the various e-commerce solution of the site. You can only update its title.

Section 4: This one is populated by the List module. It takes a title, a list of entries and the option to display a summary for each entry or not.

Section 5: This one is populated by the Online Archives module. Much like the Buy module, you can only edit the title, as it automatically generates a list of online archives by year.

Issues#issues

Two new fields have been added to the issues. At the moment they’re only used to populate the first section of the homepage.

Issue Blurp#issue-blurp

This field will be used to populate the first section on the homepage which promotes the current issue. In the future we could use it to promote issues elsewhere.

Issue Featured Entries#issue-featured-entries

These selected entries also populate the homepage “current issue” section.

On the homepage module, the issue's "Blurp" sits on top, followed by its "Featured Entries"

Landing Pages#landing-pages

The last type of documents to be impacted are the landing pages.

They used to have a list of entries assigned to them but now sports the same “Page Sections” field as the homepage.

Currently each landing page only sports one List module. It holds the same entries as the old “Featured Entries” field used to hold.

Editors can complement the sections with more modules like Push or Highlight for example.
