William Giraldi

William Giraldi is the author of three novels, About Face, Hold the Dark, and Busy Monsters, the memoir The Hero’s Body, and the essay collection American Audacity: In Defense of Literary Daring (all W. W. Norton & Co). His stories and essays have appeared in Oxford American, VQR, The New Republic, AGNI, Ploughshares, Bookforum, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Commentary, and elsewhere. Giraldi was part of the day-to-day editorial team at AGNI from 2002 to 2019, when he stepped down as fiction editor.
