Susan Nguyen

Susan Nguyen’s debut poetry collection, Dear Diaspora (University of Nebraska, 2021), won the Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Poetry, an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Association of Asian American Studies, and a New Mexico–Arizona Book Award, and was a finalist for the Julie Suk Award. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Academy of American Poets’ Poem-A-Day series, The American Poetry Review, Poetry, Poetry Northwest, and elsewhere. She has received, among other honors, an Arizona Commission on the Arts fellowship and the Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize from The American Poetry Review. A member of the collective She Who Has No Master(s), she is editor-in-chief of Hayden’s Ferry Review. (updated 10/2025)
