Lara Markstein is a South African–born New Zealander who lives in Oakland, where she serves as program officer at the UC Berkeley Center for New Media. Her most recent stories have appeared in The Greensboro Review, Necessary Fiction, AGNI Online, and The Four Way Review. She holds a BA in English from Harvard University and an MFA from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. (updated 3/2015)
