Giannina Braschi is a Puerto Rican novelist and essayist. She is best noted for her use of the “Spanglish” language in the novel Yo-Yo Boing! (Latin American Literary Review Press, 1998). The recipient of grants from the Ford Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts, she has taught at the City University of New York and Rutgers University.
