CooXooEii Black, an Afro-Indigenous poet from the Wind River Reservation and a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, is the author of The Morning You Saw a Train of Stars Streaking Across the Sky (Rattle Foundation, 2022), which won the Rattle Chapbook Contest. His work has appeared in Poetry, Eco Theo Review, Palette Poetry, AGNI, Carve Magazine, and elsewhere. He received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Memphis. (updated 4/2025)
