Valerie Vogrin is the author of the novel Shebang (University Press of Mississippi, 2004). Her short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Ploughshares, The Florida Review, Natural Bridge, AGNIThe Black Warrior Review, New Orleans Review, and elsewhere. She is assistant professor of English at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she serves as prose editor of Sou’wester. (updated 4/2009)

Vogrin’s AGNI story “things we’ll need for the coming difficulties” won a Pushcart Prize and is reprinted in the 2011 anthology.
