Sissela Bok
Sissela Bok was born to Nobel Prize-winning parents in Sweden in 1934. After receiving a PhD in Philosophy from Harvard, she went on to publish numerous books, including Lying: Moral Choice in Private and Public Life (Vintage, 1978), which won both the George Orwell Award and the Melcher Book Award. She is currently a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies at the Harvard School of Public Health. (updated 7/2010)
