Miguel A. Vega
Miguel A. Vega’s writing has appeared in Pacific Review, AGNI, Aurora: The Allegory Ridge Poetry Anthology, and Meow Meow Pow Pow. He was selected in 2021 for the Anaphora Arts Writer’s Summer Residency program and was a runner-up in 2022 for Key West’s Scotti Russo Award for emerging poets. He lives in Riverside, California. His poem in this issue reimagines La Malinche / Malintzin / Marina, the Nahua woman best known for her betrayal of the Aztec Empire during the Spanish Conquest of Mexico. She later bore Hernán Cortés his first son, Martín, one of the earliest Mestizos. (updated 4/2024)
