Becky Thompson is the author of two collections of poems, most recently To Speak in Salt (Ex Ophidia Press, 2021), winner of the Ex Ophidia Poetry Book Prize. Also a scholar and activist, she has written, among other books, Survivors on the Yoga Mat (North Atlantic Books, 2014), and has coedited two poetry anthologies, including, with Jehan Bseiso, Making Mirrors: Righting/Writing by and for Refugees (Olive Branch Press, 2019). Her honors include the Gustavus Myers Award for Outstanding Books on Human Rights and fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the American Association of University Women. She is professor of sociology at Simmons University. (updated 4/2022)
