Victor Pelvein is widely read and critically acclaimed both at home and abroad. His novels and stories of the 1990s have established him as one of the primary voices of post-Soviet Russian fiction. They include Omon Ra (Farrar, Straus & Giroux), The Yellow Arrow (FSG), and A Werewolf Problem in Central Russia and Other Stories (New Directions). His new novel, The Clay Machine-Gun will be published in Britain in 1999. (updated 1999)
