Gish Jen is the author of four novels—Typical American, Mona in the Promised Land, The Love Wife, and World and Town—a collection of short fiction, Who’s Irish?, and two works of nonfiction. Her fiction has appeared in The Best American Short Stories of the Century and been nominated for the National Book Critics’ Circle Award, and Jen has received the Lannan Literary Award and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation.
